My honest review of the most expensive tool bag I've ever owned.

I have owned the Veto Pro-Pac tech XL for around a year now and I feel that it’s a good length of time to offer my review of it. The bag boasts 80 interior and exterior vertical tool pockets of various sizes split across the bag along with 9 small, 3 medium and 2 large neoprene pockets designed for things like separate drill bits or a small case of screwdriver bits and chalk lines. It also features 9 D-Rings, some small and some large. Which is perfect for the wide, heavy duty, padded shoulder strap. The strap features a plastic clip so you can attach it to the handle so it’s not hanging loose when not in use.

The bag also features an electrical tape loop which can be removed or placed somewhere different on the bags thanks to the D-Rings. It also has a stainless-steel tape holder accompanied by pockets for things like pens and pencils. The bag itself is made of a heavy-duty PVC impregnated denier nylon meaning that aside from being ultra-strong, it’s also waterproof and the same material is used for the tool pockets meaning you don’t have to worry about them tearing when sliding screwdrivers etc in.

The handle is made of an injected plastic with a rubber grip which is ultra-comfy and because of the design it means the handle is constantly up so when your hands are full you don’t have to fumble around trying to grab the handle. One feature I love is the plastic base which comes up the side of the bag by 60mm (2 23/64”) meaning you don’t have to worry about water seeping up through the material and it also makes the bag nice and sturdy when placed down.

Another feature of the bag I love is the large pockets on either side. One fastened with a plastic clip and the rest zipped, I keep things like my safety glasses, a pair of in-ear defenders and small tools in these. The zips themselves are great quality and feature a large pull tab meaning it easy to open even when wearing gloves.

The bag is split into two halves which I find incredibly useful as I tend to find it helps me keep it more organised which makes my life easier when on a job and helps with efficiency. There’s plenty of room inside for all your tools whether they’re stood up in one of the many vertical pockets or lying down in front, the tallest thing I have stood up is a pair of 300mm (12”) water pump pliers and that fits fine although you’d struggle to get anything much taller in and lying down I have things such as my hammer, combination square etc. The bag is a decent size, measuring 440mm (17.4”) long, 250mm (10”) wide and 520mm (20.5”) including the handle which is 150mm (6”) tall. The bag weighs in at 3.9kg (8.8lbs) empty.

Overall, I think this is a fantastic tool bag and although it does come with quite a hefty price tag of around £199.00 ($239.00) it does feel very superior to any other tool bag I’ve come across. It’s great for organisation and has plenty of storage space, although I think personally I could have done with a few less interior pouches on one side to allow for bigger tools to be placed in front of them and potentially a space for storing extra long screwdrivers but these are minor things and I'm just being picky! But I do feel it’s going to last and take anything I throw at it and that's all you can ask of a tool bag really.
